How To Randomize Pokemon Sun

So I recently saw a video online of someone doing a randomizer nuzlocke of pokemon sun moon, and decided that i wanted to give it a try myself. I installed homebrew and Luma from that online 3ds.guide website. I should also note that i installed a cia version of moon using FBI because i didn't want to lose/ruin my save on pokemon Sun. Anyhow, I updated moon to 1.1, and followed all of the tips/guide etc i could find online to try and get the randomizer to work. I just dont know what i am doing wrong. One weird thing i noticed is that from homebrew, i can see two moon entries, and if i try to launch one, it causes an error, and forces me to reboot, while the other just works as normal, but seemingly disallows any custom code. Im not sure if that is relevant.
QR Scanner is a feature in Pokemon Sun and Moon that allows you to scan a QR code. Once scanned, it gives you a Pokedex entry for a Pokemon from another region. Every 10 QR codes, you get the ability to Island Scan: a Pokemon is revealed on the island you are on and you have 1 hour to find and catch it.
